Ryan McGinness grew up in the surf and skate culture of Virgina Beach. His paintings, prints, sculpture and installations incorporate the graphic elements of public signage and corporate logos, as well as images from art history. The fusion of influences establishes McGinness’ own iconographic language as a multi-faceted reflection of contemporary visual culture. Before pursuing the life of an artist, worked as a curatorial assistant at the Andy Warhol Museum. He has achieved international success, having had numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. Ryan McGinness was interviewed on July 15, 2005 in New York City.
